Next Big One will strike Sumatra within decades

Another earthquake similar to the one that caused the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami will be arriving within decades. It centers on Padang and the tectonic time bomb it is sitting on. This time it might be 8.8 magnitude. Geologist Kelly Sieh shared this pretty terrifying tales.

Today supposed to be an auspicious day for chinese. It’s Bak Chang (Rice Dumpling) Festival. But today strong winds have blown away most Penang-ites’ mood. It is a so called ‘typhoon’. I’m not sure the blowing speed (will check out tomorrow news). But it is the strongest I’ve ever seen.
Rooftops being blown away, trees came crashing down, cars damaged. Here is the view from my house balcony.
